Haven't posted here in a while, so if this has been covered, I apologize (I searched and didn't find anything). I just got a flyer in the mail about the Oly digital SLRs (E series?). Was wondering if anyone had any experience using these cameras for underwater (or on land for that matter). I love my 5050, but I'm getting tempted to make the jump to digital SLR.

Check digitaldiver.net as they have quite a few people who use Olypus E series and they seem very good. However a couple of things to consider, Olympus is slightly cheaper than its Canon/Nikon dSLR competitor but its wide angle lens is incredibly expensive, Olympus housing price is also not any cheaper than third party housing and is on par with housing for other camera .So overall and you have less choices for lenses and less macro ability than its Nikon/Canon counterpart at this time and it is does not really have much advantage in pricing either. Since you have not invested in Oly lenses yet, I would look around at other options as well. After saying that, many people seem to be very happy with Oly E1/E-300

thanks!
