Welcome. What a great hobby to share with your son.

Welcome to SB. The Jersey coast is GREAT for diving! One of my favorite sites os the Great Isaac off of Barnagate. 60' to the sand.

Howdy and welcome to SB!

Good to have you here. Click here to PM me if I can help you get started in our various forums.

I live 20 minutes from D2 and arrange some of my local dives thru them. There's a nice beach-entry site in the "Back Bay" on the Belmar side of the Shark River. And there's always Dutch Springs. If you'd like to meet and dive together, PM me.

Dutch Springs seems like a good place to gain experience and confidence.

Dutch is where I'm doing my OW dives on the 29/30, then plan on going straight to AOW. Would love to hear about some NJ dive spots for this n00b. :)

From what the DM's told me at the LDS is that Dutch is one of the most dived spots, can be around 1200 divers there on a weekend for their OW dives, supposedly the viz gets really bad after 10-11am.

Ande welcome to the boards...after reading the boards and researching stuff on here you'll get alot better grip on everything. Truely a jewel this board is!!
