The PADI Wheel was designed to allow calculation of multilevel dives. It is not a flexible as a dive computer, but then again, it never needs batteries. It shares in common with the PADI tables the fact that the gas washout on the surface interval is calculated based on the 60-minute halftime compartment. This generally is the longest limiting compartment for recreational divers.

The Reduced Gradient Bubble Model is an advantage only in dives (or multiple dives) deeper than encountered by recreational divers.
