My first night dive was with a full moon in the Bahamas with 100 ft visibility. After a few minutes everyone turned their lights off.

Dark diving is a great experience, but never go "lights off". Cover your small flashlight with your hand. Hate to say it this way, but it makes "distressed" divers easier to find.

In the Bay Islands & Belize, I have heard repeated many times from local fishermen that on Full Moons, the Sea "lays down", becoming more peaceful, calm, and flat.
