Welcome to the board. Cold wanter and 30 foot tides, what a ride you must have up there diving. Now there is a location the requires dive planning.

You're quite correct about the rides. We go to Deer Island Point to do the drift dive. The trick is to check the tide tables and get in the water 60 minutes before slack tide. Even with good planning, the tides can play tricks on you. My times on that drift vary from 10 to 35 minutes to cover the same distance.

However, other areas are more sheltered from strong currents. Mind you, at low tide, we sometimes need to walk up to 200 feet to reach the water line...
