Hello!

Long time lurker, new to making an account and posting. I’ve had my diving license for about a year, as I got it to go diving with some friends. Lo and behold, I get my certification and they don’t go diving near as much as they said. I haven’t gone diving since I got my certification since I now have no one to go with. I live in the middle of Kansas, and am moving to Virginia in June/July. I’m wanting to get a few contacts or tips on places out there so I can try and pick up this hobby again!

Thanks in advance!

Some of us are solo or part time solo divers. We enjoy the submerged world alone. It's great but it also requires a bit more caution. You would benefit from a dive buddy but unless you can find one, and you must dive, go to the solo divers forum.

Now that you are a new diver, it would be very important for your safety and enjoyment and learning experience to dive with others. But, yeah, there is life beyond buddy diving, too. More risk, hence more trouble avoiding it, but just as fun.

This was a bit of an unorthodox post but I do have my rebel moments ;)
