Hi, just joining this forum to connect with other divers. My husband and I were certified on St. Croix in 2002 and did about a dive trip a year until more recent years when we've started accumulating more dives, now over 200. During the pandemic we ended up doing our Advanced Open Water, Nitrox, and Dry Suit certifications in a quarry in West Virginia, cold and dark! Some of our favorite spots have been Fakarava/Rangiroa (French Polynesia), Bonaire, Galapagos, and Madagascar.

Welcome to Scuba Board fellow NOVAers! Unfortunately there’s no longer any dive sites in the area but there’s a number of good dive shops as well a good community of divers.

There’s a meetup group which is fairly active Washington Area Scuba Club: A DC/VA/MD Scuba Meetup Group | Meetup

As far as ‘local’ diving goes, Lake Phoenix is a good quarry to get your gills wet and NC around Morehead has some fun ocean diving if the weather cooperates.
