I bumped into this board somehow by mistake, but it seems I've found the right place. I'm planning a trip somewhere to the carribean and needed weather conditions for the next few months. I've dove Cozumel and Belize (Ambergris caye), and all around my local spots (Monterey). Since my beautiful daughter is just 6 months old, we can't go for long because we'll miss her. But my wife and I are certainly ready since we couldn't travel for the last year-and-a-half. The big question now is "WHERE TO!?"

To make things quick, we were looking at something in the Caymans, but heard it was more expensive than practical. Then we thought of Roatan, but I'm worried about the weather. Anyone have an opinion? We'd plan to go for 9 days max.

Roatan has super wall diving off of Fantasy Island or Coco View. Do a week there!

Yes I agree the Caymans are expensive but it is beautiful. Roatan on the other hand is more economical and the diving is great. We are going to CoCo View in July. The weather in that area is of course tropical so the daily rain showers are expected at that time of year but it is not enough to stop us from diving. You didn't say what time of year you would be traveling. Good luck with you search. Again post same question in one of the forums listed.
