Probably not the top of everyone's list, but Nissin is coming out with a new light stick that won't need batteries. It is a piezoelectric transducer and an LED. Basically, you shake it and the LED turns on. It's not available in a waterproof design yet, but they're working on it.

Given the number of PLLs we have that need batteries, this would be GREAT.
