New in the Tampa Bay area

Hi,

Myself and family moved from CT and we are all keen divers (2 boys 10 and 13). Was wondering for some nice spots for family to go diving and meet other divers. Some recommendations on good dive shops would also be appreciated.

There's lots of good folks here - beach dives, spring dives, gulf dives and sometimes getting together just for the the fun of it.

Hey Keen welcome to the board. Where in Tampa are you located? Personally, I use Divers Supply on Gunn Hwy. near Linebaugh Ave.

Curious, how did you find out about the board?

For dive charters, go with Captain Ty, look for others to post trips, and join in on gatherings.

Thanks guys...I am in Pasco and have been visiting Diver-Supply. The closes shop for me is Calypso and they seem to be cool. Filled a few tanks here and the fills were good (got full 130 when cooled down). Let me know what you think.

My wife and myself with kids are all cert divers and keen to dive. Looking forward to diving with all of you soon.

As for the board, I have found it while in CT but had not been able to utilize it much. How in Tampa, I have a bit more time so I am back and much more active.

Narcosis here on the board lives up that way and uses that shop. He should pop in here soon.

Welcome! Don't know of anything up your way, but there are a couple of decent shore dive in Manatee and Sarasota counties.

Depending on what part of Pasco you are in, check out the good folks at Narcosis SCUBA in Tarpon Springs. They dive Springs, Grottos, and have their own boat for Gulf trips as well. They are awesome. Calypso also has great people but I'm not sure which is closer for you. And, I'm pretty sure Narcosis goes out in the Gulf more often than Calypso...
