Just got OW cert in July and went diving yesterday in the Delaware Water Gap in Pennsylvania. For all of you who think NE diving requires a dry suit, the water temp was 79, although the viz was terrible (very silty bottom, easy to disturb). Have several more diving (local) outings planned, but could use a regular buddy!

Hey Ron!

I am new on SB too, although I've done a fair amount of diving. This seems like the best dive community on the web... good job finding it!

I don;t dive around here too much, but would be up for it depending on what you have in mind. You gotta drive though... I am a true Manhattanite and don;t have a car! ;)

I've done some bug (i.e., lobster) hunting and wrecks off Long Island, and I'm pretty sure thre is the same in northern Connecticut. There are a bunch of wrecks upstate. I haven't done the Gap... what is there, there? I'm planning to do the NY Aquarium at some point this winter... they also have good lecture programs.

Nothing for the next couple of weeks though, as I am off on Wednesday to Grand Turk and then Abaco. :)

Sounds like a great trip. While you're gone, I'm diving out of Sheepshead Bay for my first night dive. Acquarium sounds interesting. Let me know when you get back!
