Slogger, I agree that a second hand Ike is a good option- it's more durable and would probably cost just as much a new Oly housing. However if I switch to Ike I'll also have to change the base of my Inon tray and optical cable so a new Oly housing is still the cheaper option for me. I'm still hoping that the PT-27 will work with the 5060 because they say the PT20 is more prone to flooding. Mine however, has served me well and I haven't changed any o-rings yet. Luckily the unit I got was one of the better ones.

Another reason why I was considering the PT27 was that when my 5060 retires, I was planning to get a refurbished 7070 (since it's so much like my 5060). Like you I also don't want to go thru the long process of learning to use another system.

Batray says his 5060 fits the PT-027 perfectly .So now what ? Wonder if Oly didn't produce a batch of 5060's with smaller mode dials - the first batch of cameras had issues with the dial .

Thanks for the update Andrew. I'll try inquiring at B&H if the 5060 is indeed compatible with PT27. They're on passover holiday so I'll have to wait till the 21st when their store reopens. In the meantime I'll see if there's a way to (safely) switch the dials.
