New Hid Light question.

Hey guys, just picked up a dive rite 10watt HID from a member on this board.

I was wondering when the battery is getting low does the bulb dim or does it just shut off ??

Is it lead acid (SLA) or NiMh batteries??

With SLA, you'll notice it flicker and the color goes "purple".

With NiMh, the discharge curve is steep and it'll cut off very soon after it flickers.

It must be SLA because I have noticed a little bit of flicker when the battery is low, and also a slight purple tint.
