If you are really looking for a unique use for your skills in the off season, a friend of mine runs trips for the Neptune society (out of Freeport NY). He does mass burials which, i have been privy to, involves ashes from hundreds of deceased held in plastic garbage bags. He goes out the required distance (I think 12 miles) dumps the bags, then returns. More elaborate funerals involve taking family members, urns and usually a religious figure.
I'm thinking this is one source of income you never thought of!

I try and offer a much as possible Im a firefighter full time and a few other firemen are licensed captains. And we all have side buisness so it works out well being able to throw a little work out here and there.
