Hi. I'm new to this stuff, but I already have a question and hope someone can help me out. I am trying to get information on the "Seakids Camp" that they have advertised in Curacau. I have 3 children-- 4, 5 and 7 and would really like to take a diving vacation that they can be involved in and still have some fun myself. The ads sound good, and they have some testimonials, but can you really trust their own site for all the reviews? My husband is leary of trusting other people with them when we are not supervising, so I need some more independant information if I am ever to convince him that we can continue to do the things we love, and include them safely in the activity. Please help me out with any info you have

Hi drbarbdvm, welcome to ScubaBoard. When involving your kids with a sport like scuba and in a place you don't know the people it is great to do as much research as you can. ScubaBoard is a great place for that. Try posting this question here for better visibility.
Good luck, David

Welcome to SB! Good question and good luck. David gave you a link to a forum for that area. Post your question there, SBers are always willing to help when they can. There are search features and ways to find out just about anything. I'm sure there must be a few places to vacation that can fulfill your requirements. Safe diving and welcome to the board!

Hi there and welcome! I think its great that you want to get your kids involved! I started diving at 13, and its something that I still love! If your kids are truely interested in it, then I think that its something that you should definetley go for (as long as its proven to be safe!!) Let me know if there is anything that I can help you with while your learning you way around the boards!

Have fun, and safe diving!
Kayla

Welcome to the board!

I think that 7 is actually too young for Scuba, but I'm sure you can get some better advice than mine here. Snorkeling is great, and great practice for Scuba later...

:D :jump013:Welcome to Scuba Board drbarbdvm! It’s a good place to go if you are into diving. I enjoy being here. There have been so many people that have offered advice regarding my dream. I hope your question gets answered too. and Safe Diving.

Welcome to the board. My 9 year old is getting ready to do you Jr Open Water cert. My 13 year is thinking about getting certified.

Thank you all for the welcomes! I think this is the greatest sport in the world and I am really looking forward to sharing it with my kids. Snorkleing in the pool is already a big part of their summer, and the oldest is eager to learn more about diving. My husband is just not as sure of this class and worries about safty, so I am trying to gather as much information as possible. Again thank you for the warm welcomes.
