Welcome! I've got tons of time in that area....got a nice close flyby from the stingray on the Sea Emperor on my first dive way back when....he's still there....introduced a few students last month.

Diving in the upper keys is pretty nice....I go out with the Keys Dive Center and Conch Republic in Tavernier....both good service and nice boats. Diving with them from Christmas through New years. Good photography and lobstering. Let me know if you want to dive with us.

Jupiter Dive Center up in Jupiter is also a good place for a little deeper stuff and some spearfishing.

Diving on the Gulf is interesting, depending on what you are after. This time of year it's pretty cold and the viz is never what the Atlantic is, but there are good reasons to dive it. I do a bit of shark tooth hunting around Venice, both off of boats and shore diving. Also a little spear fishing and crabbing!

I'm EXCITED to fnd new places, Boynton Beach?? I'll have to do some researching. Thanks

To help with your research, Scubakevdm runs a dive boat out of Boynton. He does a wonderful job and is very highly recommended.

They often go to a wreck called the Sea Emperor. You need your advanced certification for that one

Why? The Sea Emperor is an extremely easy dive, there's nothing "advanced" about it. You can quite easily dive it without AOW, there are other boats in the area.

Yeah! Another female diver in Miami :)

Amy, let's meet and see if we're compatible dive buddies. BHB (Blue Heron Bridge) is a nice, chill shore dive to improve skills and see some amazing macro. It's only about 25' at it's deepest.

Let me know.

Do you have any pix for me from yesterday?......
Unforunately, although I was taking pictures, it was with Lou's camera....
Who is this????

I haven't done a shore dive yet, sounds like fun!!!!
Let's meet!

I happen to be off for 2 weeks from Dec 19-Jan 4th. Maybe I will drive down one day and do some diving......
Thanks!

Hello Amy, I'm thinking about selling everything here in the Carolina's and moving down to Florida. I am a PADI instructor, but I have'nt taught in many years. I'm interested in areas from Ft. Pierce to West Palm. Since you live near that area, do you have any recommendations for living and diving? Have you been diving any further north than Pompano? Thx, B

Sorry B,
I am NO GOOD for you......lol
I haven't gone diving any further than Pompano. I wish I could help you more.....

Hi Amy, let me add my welcome to your already long list....hope you find the answers to your quest for new adventures!!!

Welcome aboard, I am new to the board also
You live in an excellent location for diving, it will be a long time before you get everything the area has to offer.
I made a few dives down there years ago and can recommend Rodeo 25. short ride out from Pompano, (Lighthouse inlet) and there are a few 6 pack boats available. Prices are better too, since you don't have to ride the boat for an hour or more.
Good diving to you and Merry Christmas
