So, I'm new to diving so everything is new to me. I might have given more info then you were looking for, but I love to talk. So far this year I have purchased:
Exposure Suit: USIA Aqua Deluxe dry suit
I chose this one for the versatility of the style. I can adjust the undergarments to the water temp\environment I am diving in to an extent. Tomorrow I’m going to Tacoma, WA in water that 45-48 degrees. But in a few weeks taking the same suit to dive in CA where it might be around 65 degrees. Price point was good, and I love to support my local businesses, and it’s the dry suit was made about 30 minutes from me.
Regulator: Apeks XTX40
Secondary: Apeks XTX40 Octopus
This brand\modle fits my diving needs and experience. I think it can grow with me for a while, yet, it’s a good starter reg.
Computer: Suunto Gekko
Price point was great on this, it was on sale, and this is the same model our LDS rented so I was already familiar with it.
Fins: Mares Avanti Quattro
Not sure why I got these, LDS suggestion, and I listened.
They have been great, but I don’t have a lot to compare to.

Well, I bought my wife a Mares Kaila BC. Mostly because she liked the color. I liked the reviews. I also bought my wife Atomic Split fins - black and purple with springs (smoke on the water basically). She wanted them because they were purple. I like the performance. I also bought her a new Atomic frameless mask. If I had not she would have taken mine. I got mine because I love the mask. Basically she got what she got because she finally decided that she loves diving and I now have a great dive buddy....only problem is I get to carry ALL the gear.
Torpedo 2000 scooter- because it was rough 1st part of the year and I wanted it.

HOG Predator Drysuit- my old OS Systems one shrunk- Aqualung bought White's so I could not in good conscience buy a Fusion- And Chris at HOG is a friend and the suit looks friggin cool! Just need it to get here.

I picked up an Atomic Sub-Frame mask with prescription installed from the factory. Finally decided to take the pluge with a prescription mask. Tried out a few different masks and decided on this one.

- 21 HID Light Monkey & backup LED lights - hands down, my MOST favorite purchase this year. Ya should have seen how well my Monkey preformed last weekend in Coz when I did a wreck dive, two night dives, a ton of reef dives and a few cenote dives. It light up the sites!!! My dive buddies all have Monkey-envy.
