Counterclockwise is the only way to use the old shore road.
Turn off the main road past the cruise terminal by the presidente.
The road (hwy 1) from rastas to the terminal is boring and dangerous with lots of speeding drivers.

Counterclockwise if you do a lap.
Out and back via transversal otherwise.

Not for us. We go clockwise, and we are usually the first customers at Mescalito's. We don't miss the ocean view on the way back because it's usually pretty late; we are usually the last customers at Bob's Marley Bar. You can still find Tree if you look hard enough but it's a bit of a slog through the underbrush to get to it from the new road.
