Yes. Right around there unless you have a local ID.

Security on the playa side was a metal detector and two guards. Everyone walked through and it beeped each time. No one delayed or detained. I carried my bag through with enough metal in it to be interesting. No result.

I love the new pre-recorded message loop they now play at the Playa del Carmen pier. The English translation says "due to higher security measures, you should be at the pier ten years prior to departure."

Ultramar just raised their prices but claims the new boats will do the crossing in 20 minutes.
