can a diver with just OW do a night dive?
Short answer, I don't recommend it. There are some things you need to learn before you do your night dive. You need to be very comfortable with your diving skills before we add pitch black illuminated only by what your dive light can illuminate and deal with the "what was that large 7 foot creature that just wizzed by me out of the dark? (sea lion) or "why is my buddy pulling on my fin....wait a minute, my buddy is beside me! What the !!!!" (sea lion again). You need to learn how you are going to communicate using your lights etc.

I recommend taking the advance course AFTER you have mastered your BOW skills and are comfortable. For some that is 20 dives, for most that is about 50 dives, but each diver is different.

If you are comfortable enough in the water, and if you are interested, we could work on your Advance Certification while you are here. I would be happy to discuss it with you once we have done a dive together.

hey! that would be great Melvin, except i don't think i'll have full weekends... but we won't know until we get closer tot he date.. if not.. no biggie i'll enjoy some fun dives :)

Night dives aren't that big of a deal. However, since that you're unfamiliar with the local water condition, heavy exposure suit you'd be wearing, lots of lead weights, etc., the experience would be more of a drag than fun. You'll be too busy fumbling than enjoying the view.

so it looks like i'll be free from AUG 17-20th... who can help me get my AOW in cali? :P please me the price you charge :)
