Hi everyone!

I've come across this site a few times while searching the internet and decided to go ahead and join today when I saw an item I wanted to purchase here.

Open Water certified in March and just got back from vacation where I did my 1st warm water dives.

My dry suit orientation is tomorrow and going out in it next weekend!

Have fun with your dry suit class -- and don't get discouraged by what you see in the water tomorrow. The viz in the Sound right now is about as bad as it ever gets, and the vast majority of the time, it's significantly better. There is a LOT of life in the water here, even if you won't see a lot of it tomorrow!

Tomorrow I'm only in the pool so I don't need to worry about vis.
I'll be hitting Open Water next weekend.

My 1st 6 dives (including the 4 for certification) were here in the Sound.
Sunnyside x2, Redondo Beach, Les Davis Pier x3.

After diving warm water I decided to get a dry suit for diving "at home".

Welcome to diving. You should also get out to Hood Canal, especially Sund Rock. It is great diving. Good luck with the dry suit, it is a lot different form wet suit diving!

Thank you! Sund Rock is on my list. I would have gone diving there with a group from my LDS (I'm hoping that means local dive shop) but I am required to work alternate weekends.

Make sure your seals are properly sealed against the skin; that's generally how people get flooded. With the comfort of drysuit diving, you'll want to dive all the time, especially with the amount of life in your area.

Dry suit orientation in the pool yesterday.
I was sweating so much I didn't notice I had a leak until we got out and my left side was soaked from my shoulder to my toes.
It turns out the vent wasn't seated properly, went by the shop, re-seated the vent, then while checking for leaks the neck seal tore.

Good news-- I get new neck latex in time for my dives this weekend and the leak has been fixed!

Welcome to the world of dry suits. When they aren't being repaired, they're often leaking . . . Although the Fusion suit I dive is incredibly hard to damage, the valves are not always perfectly behaved, and after 7 years of dry suit diving, I've gotten to where I'm grateful for every dive that comes out perfectly dry.

Good to hear the Fusion is tough, I'm guessing you have the Bullet Skin on it...
Mine has the Sport Skin, but I purchased a Tech Skin from someone on the forum.
