Another thing to help get admin on your side is what the team can do for them around election time.
If people don’t hear anything about a departmental team you don’t exist. But if the team is out there working and doing a good job your front-page news. Good press gets votes.
Having to rely on others or having to hire things out takes time and cost the taxpayers money. That gets votes for the other guy.
So let them see how the team can make the department look good.
