New dive shop in Monterey

I'm not in the dive business, but while I was at a conference in Monterey a few weeks ago I saw that the Seven Seas Scuba location in Monterey has closed. I have since learned that a new dive shop has opened in the same location, BreakWater Scuba, just across from San Carlos beach park.

I rather like the folks at Seven Seas so sorry to hear of their closure. But I'm glad we have alternatives to Glenn's at the Breakwater still.

marcus8, thanks so much! We greatly enjoyed all of our California and traveling divers! While we will certainly miss being in Monterey, we didn't close per se, but rather we completed a business transaction with Breakwater Scuba allowing for a congruent transition in dive shop services! We also excitedly welcomed back PADI Course Director/Tec Instructor Scott Cooper to the Monterey area, as Manager of Breakwater Scuba. Scott had previously managed Monterey Bay Dive Center (same shop location) about 8-9 years ago.

They are also brining in 2-3 new dive boats to the area and have expended the shop's retail space quickly filling with many new goodies - so all sorts of excellent news for area divers. Divers will also see many of the same staff, Adrian, Nate, and Rosie, and the shop can be reached a the same number 831-717-4546 or by email at info@breakwaterscuba.com.
