There's a *new* dive club in New York City. A club with focus, activities and a downtown sensibility. We are an Eco-focused dive club, and one of our main aims is to raise awareness about issues relating to the oceans and marine ecology at a time when the marine environment is under siege.

Our first meeting was this past Tuesday, July 25th, at People Lounge on Allen St, and 42 members participated. There was a slideshow highlighting dive destinations called "Around The World in 80 Slides" given by a member/assistant organizer who is a published underwater photographer, and a talk about sharks called "Sharks: Separating Fact From Fiction".

The club was started on meetup.com one month ago, and has (as of this writing) 100 members. To see what we're up to, you can go to our meetup site. It's FREE to join and takes less than a minute to do so. The site is located at:

You can also visit our very own website at:

We'd love to have you join and participate. We're in the process of planning a number of different activities:
  • Local dives (Dutch Springs and local dive boats)
  • Dive trips
  • Presentations about the environment and marine ecology
  • Course offerings
  • Happy hours
  • Other social activities

Come visit us, join the club and hope to see you at our next event which is planned for August 22nd!
