We are getting a new dive boat at Aquatic Safaris. Island Hopper is building a 48' custom dive boat for us, it's actually 43' when you minus the bow pulpit an platform. It is being made off the same molds as Rob Shirley's Pro48 that you see all over the Caribbean. It will carry the Coast Guard 100 mile route certification so it will be built very strong and safe. We are going to set it up for NC diving and possibly doing some more tech trips. It is made to carry 30-36 people but we are going to set it up for 18-24 for a little more comfort. The best thing about it is the boat will be dry and fast. We outfitted it with the largest engines possible and were hoping to cruise in the upper 20 knot range when loaded down. The hull has just been removed from the mold and we are expecting delivery in June.

Where are you running out of? Are you going to be doing weekday day trips? And last question are you going to be in need of a Divemaster?

The boat will be at the Bridge Tender in Wrightsville Beach NC were our current boat is. During the summer charters go out nearly everyday. As long as there are enough people signed up on the charter and conditions permit we a running. As for being in need of a Divemaster you'd have to talk to either Paul or Roy at Aquatic Safaris (www.aquaticsafaris.com). They are gearing up for the charter season so now may be a good time.
