Hi Guys & Girls,

This may be of interest to your adventures it could even be a new destination. This is the first of its kind in the Philippines a underwater park we are looking for divers in groups in all countries to visit the This Unique New Marine Park we give discounted accommodation and free dive while assisting with Biri Initiative’s on their many projects Project 250 you can see more at www.biri-initiative.org we hope to get some promotion from Scubaboard as promoting us is adding to eco tourism. All clients are received by Biri Resort & Dive Center, one of the more luxurious Resorts on the island.

Project 250

We are building and restoring coral and fish habitats in order to preserve their population in areas that have be decimated by illegal fishing practices. To propagate coral species that can survive strong typhoons. To grow breakwaters to stabilize the shore, reducing the sedimentation and consequently, improving the water clarity. By educating and showing a range of projects that can be easily applied we have created a better and more sustainable environment to the local community they now have added employment a better food supply chain, increasing eco tourism.

Although we call this an underwater habitat, technically it is also a underwater park, that has a seascape theme, as you will find an entrance gate, park benches, trash cans embossed with NO TRASH and NO PLASTIC, statues, along with a pond with ducks and fish, flowers, a holy cross, ”Blessed by the local priest” even goal posts with a statue of a mermaid catching the ball and another mermaid doing a slam dunk on a basketball hoop, all created from concrete and iron so it is aesthetically pleasing for divers at the same time the cages will be colonized with incredible invertebrates and algae plus growing corals that will increase fish stocks. As well as being a wondrous niche and unique project a superb tourism attraction that will bring tourists from around the globe. This is in a Marine protected Area of 10.000 square meters at Biri Island Northern Samar Philippines.
