I'm in the market for a new reg to attach to my pony bottle used duirng deco stops, where I'm typically breathing nitrox concentrations of 50% and above. I use DIN. Any recommendations? Does anyone have experience with OMS regs?

Thanks.

Stage and deco regulators should be chosen for their simplicity, ruggedness and reliability. I use Scubapro MK2/R190 regulators for my deco bottles.

The OMS deco reg is as basic as it is possible to get - unbalanced piston first stage and a downstream, non-adjustable second stage. It's more than adequate for a deco reg, but wouldn't be my first choice for anything I'd breathe below 70'.

I use the OMS deco reg on my 70' and 20' bottles. It works fine for this application. They are cheap and O2 clean out of the box.

Apeks DS4 first stage.

We have a new regulator (Sea Elite Ranger with DIN), that is O2 cleaned first stage. Simple flow by piston design (marketing speak for unbalanced) with a simple downstream second stage.

It retails for $149.95, I would sell for SB members for $110.

This is a new reg and not on our website yet, I'll try and get some pictures and it posted today. PM me if interested.

Don't forget you need a o2 clean spg as well.

ScubaPro R2/R295, cleaned for O2 service. Simple. Works reliably. Serviced twice a year (call me paranoid but I really want to ensure it works). Always tested in non-deco situation after servicing. Also keep a short hose OMS SPG on it.
