How do you find it irrelevant to Cozumel when it affects 90% of Cozumel tourists? That January re-entry requirement was discussed in many threads in this forum and no one had an issue with that. This is a significant modification of that re-entry requirement. It reduces the three day pre-flight window to one day and adds a second test after return.

You apparently didn't even read the requirements as the requirement has significantly changed.

Yes tursiops, the first sentence of the first post says this is for the unvaccinated. And that's another major change in this "old news" - the vaccinated don't have to get that pre-departure covid test that gets discussed in half the threads in this forum.

Not every topic fits neatly into a box. This thread, regarding new rules for anyone entering or returning to the US, undoubtedly affects many people visiting or living in Cozumel, but it's not specific to that area. Therefore it has been moved from the Cozumel forum to the general travel forum.

As with nearly all threads dealing with COVID, it's sparked some political debate, which we try to keep out of the diving forums. Therefore, those posts have been moved to the Quarantine Zone here: Debating the wisdom of the US's new entry/reentry requirements

Feel free to discuss the wisdom of this policy, the wisdom of getting vaccinated or not, etc. over there, but please keep this thread focused on the practical side for traveling divers seeking info. Thanks.
