I took a class in college about 20 years ago. Holy cow I am old.have always wanted to get back into it but kids and life and money slowed me down. Taking classes through naui because I just want to do naui :). I am dragging my daughter with me. She isn't kicking and screaming about it. So she must like it. I do my open water in April. Hopefully the water would be a little warmer then. I am hoping 7 mm is going to keep me warm enough. I don't mind doing dry but that adds more expense.

I also was hoping for an opinion about a used regulator from a very reputable shop here. It's the apex xtx 100. What do you think one that is used worth?

Can't tell you if 7mm is enough if we don't know where you are diving....

I did the 20 year break too- 1997 college class then really started diving again 2009...

The apex reg has a good reputation and runs $650 or so new- aftermarket, depends on what year model it's is, and the cosmetic condition - pricing used can vary from 250-400 for a "newer" used reg.

Thanks for the reply. I am in Oregon.

Howdy and welcome to Scubaboard. :admingreet:

Good diving in Washington I know, and I suppose there too. There are various ways to keep warm in cold water, like 7 mil suits, hoods, etc. I like neoprene socks and oversize boots, and I pour a lot of warm water inside my suit before and after dives. Complete your profile, ok...??

welcome to you and your daughter.
