I went through the local college.. the Class cost me $49 and the books cost me $51. Lab fees that covered gear were $75. I bought a Wetsuit at GI-Joes (3mm) for $90 and my fins/snorkle/booties/mask cost me about $240 (I went with the Scubapro Twinjets, with a Scubapro Mask, snorkel, and deep sea boots) so far.. $415 The checkout dive was extra and cost us $50 gear rental plus $64 for the hotel room. so that added $114 plus food and drinks, to a total of roughly $150.

Class = $49
Books = $51
Lab = $75
Gear = $330
Checkout Dive = $150
Total cost---------------------> Priceless ($665)

This price was spread out over 4 months of training. Hope this helps.

Oh yea.. if you get hooked on SCUBA.. its like being a big mouth bass on the wrong end of the line.. You will sell your soul to go diving.. so watchout.

I got a fair trade of my soul for some real good scuba gear! ;)
