I finally made it to Ft. Riley, Kansas.
Need info on dive shops in the area and sites please.

Welcome Squalus, don't know to much about the area up around JC. There are a couple (that's what i heard) of shops in Lawrence and of course in KC. My LDS was talking about a remote store in the Manhattan area.

Get used to driving I haven't heard of any place to get wet up there, that is unless you like dark, dark water. Hey wait! That's a true mucker's love isn't it! :) 3 hours south and a little east will get you some good semi-flatland diving. Tablerock, Beaver, Oronogo. I plan on visiting Lake Ouachita (heard it is pro-nounced "w*******a") in the Hot Springs area. Friend of mine used to fish there and said it is some of the clearest water he had been on in the mid-west.

Welcome to the board, and the area
Brian

In Manhattan, there is "Aggie Dive Shop" & "Creative Travel & Scuba" or at least there used to be. I don't know where they do their OW, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Maybe you could tag along and get some bottom time. Other than that, I know Lawrence still has a dive shop, and there are quite a few in KC. However, like frenchy said, the best diving you will find around Junction City is in SW Missouri & NW Arkansas!
