A bunch of us headed down to Little Cayman with Divers Market the end of October. The diving was incredible!!!! I can't say enough good things about Little Cayman Resort and Reef Divers, a real class operation. The diving was just so easy. It was 86*F at the surface but got cold at depth. I downloaded my computer and was shocked to discover that it got down to 84*F at 110 FSW. Brrrr.

Bloody Bay Wall was unbelievable. 500 yards offshore you were in 60 feet of water, at 505 yards offshore it was 6000 FSW! Can you say straight down? And crystal clear. The worst day of vis was 100 feet. I liked to jump in and just float on the surface for a couple seconds just looking down at everyone already on the bottom, Sure can't do that around here!

The highlight of the trip for me was asking Alice to marry me at 65 FSW. She said yes then but still said yes when we surfaced, so she can't use being narced as an excuse.

That's enough out of you. Any more wisecracks and I won't share the Russian mail order catalog with you.

Congrats! We are thinking about planning a trip down to the Grand Caymans but someone mentioned the sea life was sparce down there because of the past hurricanes.

How was the sea life?

Not a problem at all. It was chock full of interesting things to see. And the entire place is a no take zone. I found a spiny lobster carapice on one dive. Something, probably an octopus, had sucked every last bit of Lobster out of the shell. (I would have thought it had just molted but the leg section had been obviously torn apart) So I'm swimmming around holding onto this huge lobster carapace with antenae sticking out. When I get back to the boat there is a 5-6 foot baracuda hanging under the boat. I was pretty nervous, figuring the baracuda waoudlwant what I had, but I managed to get it back up onto the boat without attracting any unwanted attention. And the skipper say's, "Very nice, but you've got to toss it back. You can't bring anything with you." Oh well, I got a few pics.

I find there's a noted difference between the quality of the diving in Grand Cayman and Little Cayman. Little Cayman is far and away the better island, and Grand Cayman is nothing to sneeze at to begin with.

LCBR really know how to run a resort and a dive operation. I'm hoping to go back there very soon.
