Just wondering if anyone would be able to recommend a reputable PADI dive shop in and around the Toronto area.

I recently got my PADI Scuba Diver certification in Malaysia, and I'm interested in upgrading to the Open Water Diver certification.

I live in downtown Toronto (Canada), but I could easily get to any dive shop in the Greater Toronto Area.

Any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Phil

Scuba 2000 was good for my open water..
Waterline at Avenue rd and Wilson is the closest I've found to downtown, I did my advanced with them (and bought much of my gear)

Watersports at Yonge and Eglinton. I've done my Rescue and DM with them. I hear good things about Scuba 2K (I've only bought/serviced gear there before)

Cheers.

If by "downtown" you don't simply mean "somewhere in Ontario that's not in the 705 area code", I can suggest Aquarius, which is around Dundas West and Jane - still within the area the TTC services, hell, it's even south of the 401! The pool they use for the courses isn't too much further north of that, either, I've taken a few courses there and gone diving in Brockville with a group from there, though I don't usually dive in Canada. Also, I haven't been dragged out and shot for using equipment purchased elsewhere, if that sort of thing matters to you. http://www.aquariusscuba.com

If you want to upgrade to open water in Canada, do it ASAP, regardless of what shop you choose, the water in the St. Lawrence is still warm now, easier than waiting for it to warm up in the summer.
