Does anyone have an Ikelite EV-Controller that I could borrow to see if mine is working? Mine works, but it is not consistant. Need to know if it is the controller, the strobe, or the camera.
Thanks
Bill

Bill, Post camera type, housing type and age of your EV controller. Maybe there is an update or a camera setting issue.

You have all the dip switches set right? Pre-Flash or no pre-flash, etc.

I find the output strength of the camera's internal flash makes a difference also. I have to have mine set on med or high. On low I have inconsistent firing.

I am using an Olympus Stylus 710 with Ikelite Housing #6138.71 (for Olympus Stylus 710 (Mju 710) Digital Camera), Ikelite DS 51 strobe with EV controller.
Strobe is only a few months old due to a flood. I am guessing the camera and EV controller to be two to three years old. I bought it used.

The dipp switches appear to be set correctly. I have no preflash and I have a 51 strobe.

Here are the problems:
1) It fires sometimes. Sometimes, it stops firiing. I bumped the EV Controller "by accident" and the strobe started firing again!

2) Some picutes are under exposed, some are over exposed and others are fine without changing anything. The dial on the EV Controller doesn't really seem to change the exposure.

I wanted to try one that was working and see what/how it did.

Thanks

Bill

It sounds like it could be the cord on the EV Controller has a broken wire.
