Anyone here ever been hit in the head by someone doing the "overhead" method?

I always make sure no one is too close and that my buddy knows what I doing before the ally-oop. Clearly not a method appropriate for a dive boat or other close quarters.

Lots of good tips..... Keeping everything close to your body helps to prevent you from tipping over. Another is to keep your weight balanced between your weight belt and weight integrated BC. Removing the BC over your head is probably something to practice after you are comfortable removing it from the side. Hoses tend to flop around and not as pretty....

Actually i don my tank this way on dive boats quite a lot. This should be a controlled maneuver, you're not just flinging a tank over your head.

For my part, I was just paying lip service to what i took to be a flip question. One thing for sure, anyone that dons overhead won't find themselves all geared up and still bungied to the tank rack because they were so worried about wrestling with their BC. Now that i have seen... a lot
