Have a little more confidence!!! With your professional BG as a RN and being scuba certified, you're certainly capable of responsibly handling equipment, after all, as a snorkeldiver, Scuba equipment looks pretty complex to me, and if you were able to learn the proper safety check routine for that stuff, dealing w/ a cam should be a piece of cake.
