H2Andy:
dude, Jam, have you ever had Havana Club 7?

it is awesome

I have and it is awesome.

Liquid gold..., liquid gold.

one of the few things Castro didn't manage to screw up

Kim:
Yup - the Scots and the Irish regularly attacked England until the English turned around and kicked their butts. Neither of them have stopped whining about it since!

Revisionist history.

You are still sore about being kicked out of the "New World".

And you needed our help in two world wars !!!

you know, let somebody die for you and bleed for you and help you out in
a moment of crisis, and they just keep bringing it up ...

Jam, I have a 21 year old Appleton Blue Label Rum that is way too good to mix with anything. Picked it up in your neighborhood.

GM, back to your original question... They all sound good. I suggest you invite me over, we open all three, then I could give you an educated opinion. I can be there in 45 minutes. ;-)

Jamdiver:
And don't forget the cigars.... :14:

well... to tell you the truth ... given how much they've overcultivated the tobacco
fields, and the low quality control you get sometimes, i think a good Dominican
is better value for your money...

of course, when you get a good Cuban cigar (and they're still around), it really
is awesome ...

that's the hardest part of not smoking for me, btw... three years now...

cigarettes taste nasty ... but a good cigar... dang ... cold shower time

That's great Ken and btw that is some real quality that you bought there....
I bought these recently for some SB'ers that I met in Florida.

Ok now back to the topic, I don't know much about Scotch.
But apparently the single malt stuff is great..

Ken abucs:
I love the old rum, but it doesn't even come close to a good single malt scotch. If you're new to it, you should start with a Glenlivet of Glenfidich. Once you acquire the taste you can move up to the peatier lowland Scotches like GM mentions above.

And then (to quote someone else) "grab yourself an Ardbeg and hold on".

I think it can be safely said that nothing (in a bottle that is) comes close to Single Malt Whisky for pure pleasure.
