Personally, with your number of dives, I would say get the Canon case, and go take pictures in ambient light. You will get some great pics, and still be able to enjoy exploring new dive environments with your dive buddy without being overwhelmed by gear. You can always add TTL flash as you progress, in diving, and taking pictures. I have the Canon case for the G10, and am amazed at the pics it can take.

we have a saying "...you have to crawl before you can walk." For me, its same here. Get use of all the camera functions and the houssing first, which can be stressfull if you are a begginer. At the same time you have my great YES for wp-dc34 hosing in comparing to Ikelite - its much lighter, more flexible and you will be able to experiment with build in flesh in close-up photography. When you ll get more comfortable with the camera, you can add a tray, arm, single (or double) strobe and a wide-lense with the same housing.
There is a solution for getting close to wide angle for original Canon houising, which was modified in march 10.
