My wife and I are going on a Western Caribbean cruise to Belize, Grand Cayman, Cozmel and Isla Roatan in December. We can only go diving at one of the stops since we'll be with my wife's family and none of them dive :(. I'm looking for either a shark dive or just the best stop to dive. Does anyone have any recommendations?

There's a shark dive in Roatan. Roatan Shark Dive It's an advanced dive. There's also a 5-8 person minimum depending on who you book it with. Everybody sells the same dive so if you can get a better deal through one of the excursion operators do so - some of the cruise lines also book it.

Grand Cayman was an awesome spot for me... you can send the family to the turtle farm and squeeze in an extra day of diving there :)

Dive Roatan....

I would say Cozumel and either Roatan or Grand Cayman. Or all 3.

The easiest place to do a good shore dive is a short distance to the right after you get off the tender in Grand Cayman. I prefer a little further to Sunset House for a shore dive. It's walking distance for young people--cab for me toting equipment. We have done shore dives on Grand Cayman in a number of spots and this is the easiest. Someone suggested sending the family to the Turtle Farm, well; it just so happens that there is a nice shore dive next to it with a store, Divetech; renting tanks and whatever is needed. I would also squeeze in 2 dive locations.
