I see that there is a lot of knowledge about American Bristol Compressors on the board. I am looking for information on getting a repair manual and parts list price sheet for a 4S7 Bristol Pneumatic ltd. Compressor. I have had this thing lying in my garage for 5 years and now have some time to get it up and running. It like so many other Bristol’s came from a Fire House that was upgrading and they were having a hard time getting replacement parts. I got it from a compressor tech that gave it to me for a G250 2nd Stage. He had just acquired a electric motor that could run it and a mount when he gave it to me.

Can anyone help?

Kasey, Ater I sent you the 4S7 manual, I haven't heard anything. Was the information sufficient to get you pumping or do you need anything else?

Frogman,
I have just recently joined ScubaBoard.
I noticed that you were pretty helpfull regarding a manual for a bristol duplex compressor model 4S7.
Would you be kind enough to forward on the manual to me please? as i have an old 4S7 in need of a thorough overhaul.
Many thanks in advance.

Dear Frogman62,
I am Steve Tuttle, not as much experience as most of the people on Scuba Board, but do need some information, the same as the person you responded to on his Bristol Pnuatic model 4S7. I would realy like a copy of the manual if you still have one. Please send me the information as to cost etc to my e-mail sltuttle@wildblue.net I will let you know what happens. I am a machinest with my own shop, and can make most of the parts with relitive ease. However specks and oil types seem to make a difference. I can help with the fabrication of valves, pistons, etc. To tell you the truth without taking the whole thing apart I'm not sure how it actually works, and I'd like to know more before I dive into the whole thing. Thank you for any help you can give. Steve Tuttle, sltuttle@wildblue.net

Guys,
I have the manual for the 4S7 and will copy it and mail a copy for $25. I also have a couple of sources of parts in the UK that have been less expensive than in the US

Been following the thread on American Bristols and have a question.
I have an old Model 3S4/45 AB compressor and need to replace teh Delivery Valve limit screw. The manual i have is unclear as to whether the hollow segment of the screw goes down into the cylinder head or up under the Capnut.

Can anybody supply this info? Thanks.

bgood,
The hollow part of the screw is for an allen wrench. IT is the up side. The cap screw has a gasket that seals the screw to the head.
