Hi everyone!

Me and my girlfriend want to go diving in Rye NH and visit the Isles of Shoals to see harbour seals and other stuff...

Can someone tell me what's the water temp at the end of august ?...we're diving wet!

I saw Captain Robs charter website, are they reliable?

What can we expect to see other than lobster and seals.?

Is this place good for diving or should I pick another destination ?..I'm coming from Montreal.

All of your infos and opinions are welcome!

Thanks!

Ide expect the water to be near 50-55 at tops. The water doesnt usually get much warmer.

you will love it!!!!. captain rob runs a very good dive boat and it doesn't get much better than that. i dive wet also and the water doesn't bother me. being from canada down here the water will be warm for you this time of year. the isle is a very beautiful dive and it doesn't matter what day you go. count on that. when you come down for your trip get a hold of don stephens at atlantic dive shop in rye beach at 603 436 4443. he has guided shore dives on sat mornings and a cook out after. he is also very good for the area and will be able to set you up with some good diving and dive buddies if you want. pm me when you come and we will hook up.

I have booked a half dozen charters with Cpt Rob and I have yet to be dissapointed. He is knowledgeable about the area, provides a thorough dive briefing and is always ready to help you out of the water.

Each charter I ran had between 6-9 people and everybody left happy.

Just be sure that you reserve a spot. Showing up at the dock with your gear in hand-might leave you dissapointed.

What about visibility ?

Did anyone went diving with the seals...How was it??

You should definately try to hook up with Don, he is very knowledgeable about the area, helpfull and friendly. The saturday am shore dive and cookout is also a great take. A great opportunity to talk to other divers in the area. The have a website if you want to contact them. Ericka and Derek are also knowledgeable and helpfull.

I've just gotten back into the sport and Don has been a huge help.

I agree about Don, with the exception of UnderSea Divers in Salem, Mass he is about the only dive shop I really use. He knows that I'm new and he's always giving me good hints as far as keeping my equipment maintained well and stuff.
