ok, one last question for y'all. If I bought a Ikelite housing for a Canon A640 am I stuck with only using their (Ikelite) strobes?

no you're not. you can mix and match and they have adaptors for all your needs. I'm using an ultralite arm system with a Sea&Sea tray.
