Need help with Bali dive sites...

Any recommendations regarding thermal protection? I'm getting mixed report about the water temperature so am wondering about what thickness of wetsuit would be appropriate for late August.

If you go to Penida and Candidasa, bring at least a 5mm. For Tulamben and Menjangan, I'd comfortable with a 3mm.

Back from Bali - great trip. Ended up wearing my full 3mm wetsuit with a 3mm "farmer john" on top of that AND a 5mm hood for Nusa Penida. Toasty

Dived mainly around Nusa Penida and Liberty wreck in Tulamben.

Anyway, I was so impressed with Bali I am already planning to go back in July '09! This time I want to concentrate on diving the northern sites.

So got some more questions...

I want to visit Menjangan, Puri Jati and Tulamben mainly. Need dive operator(s) suggestions please. Planning at least two days in Tulamben. Is one day each enough for Menjangen and PJ? Is it practical to stay in Lovina and use it as a base to dive both Menjangan and PJ?

Also would like to know how easy/long the drive is between the locations (Menjangan, Puri Jati and Tulamben).
