My wife and I took in a dog to get him out of a bad situation, but we need to find him a foster or permanent home.

Dexter is a 1.5 year old Pyrenees/lab mix male. He’s 90lbs right now but he should fill out a little more.

We’ve had him for a few weeks and he gets along fine with our other dogs and is gentle with our eight year old son. He has a very good disposition and loves attention. He’s lived in the house with us and we haven’t had any issues with accidents. He comes from an environment where a man mistreated him, so he’s a little afraid of guys until he warms up to them, which doesn’t take long for him. We got him up to date on vaccines. He’s intact, but I will help out with neutering costs if that is an issue. I'm also willing to deliver him if needed.

He’s a very good dog and deserves a good home. We would keep him if we didn’t have two big dogs already.

If anyone has any ideas on rescues or fosters that are available, please let us know.

We have a full pack right now but I sure wish you the best in finding this guy his forever home....

Might help to post a few pics or a video....

Ha ha ha how lovely even comes with a handle for bronc riding

A couple of Chocolate Labs took me in we lived on the Murray River and they'd go hunt kangaroos

Best wishes

Both my girls are rescues out of Texas. And, one is a Great Pyrenees mix too. They are the joy of my life. I wish you luck on this endeavor to find him a "forever home."

I'm in McKinney as well...Take Me Home Pet Rescue might be able to help with some resources, at least. Friend of ours has gotten her dogs through them. We've gotten our dogs through DFW Lab Rescue, but they (obviously) focus on Labs.
