Anybody know of anyone interested in hiring a Mid to Upper level Information Technology manager? I have over 15 years experience from DBA to Senior Management of 2 Computer Centers (2 Mainframes, 850 midrange systems, 8.5 TB of storage). I have experience in operations, development, consulting and sales.

I'm looking for a small to mid size non-computer company that needs someone to help run thier computers and other IT infrastructure.

I need to find a job and thought I would see if the Board family had any connections or knowledge that might help me.

I am in Toronto but am willing to re-locate to Belleville/Kingston/Peterborough area.

Thanks

Hey Matt,

My company is always hiring techno weinies....hahahaha. That's why I'm still there.

Check us out at http://www.telusmobility.com/about/careers/careers_home.html

I've been with Telus for just over 6 years now and I'm still loving it. Great company to work for. And our HO is just off McCowan.

Have you tried these guys, our provincial government?

Project Managers

The Ministry of Health and Longterm Care (MOHLTC) is about to embark on a huge IT project to connect all the 'family health networks' (FHNs) in the province together so we have patient health system encounter data in real time. Too many people seeing five docs in one day out there. Small pilot projects occurred last year in about five different sites. Platforms and security issues are being worked out, but the biggest problem was funding to get the infrastructure built. Now with the new health care premium there is an extra $2 billion a year available for such projects. The time frame is hard to pin down as the FHN system is just being built as well, but I'd say in the next 12 months things should be underway with the existing FHNs. IT penetration in the health care system in Ontario is about five to ten years behind other equivalent sized industries so lots of catching up to do which means lots of IT work.

Hey, a good friend of mine works for Telus mobility in that office. Paul Hansen. But I'm sure it's a pretty big office....

It's 16 floors in one building and 6 in another. I'm never there so I'm pretty sure I don't know your friend. His outlook may be completely different than mine. We just did a big corp. restructure and I'm not sure how it's going to effect us in the long run.

I'll have to look him up....hehehe

He's the nicest guy you could meet .... doesn't understand the diving obession. Yet.

He obviously hasn't tried it yet or he would understand completely.....
