Need Help - PC Hard Disk Crash (Smart Com data files)

I just had a hard disk crash and need some insight into data file recovery. Windows is nolonger reading the drive and I have turned the system over to someone with Linux to retrieve information for me. He has retrieved some information such as digital images but we lack the knowledge for what other data file extensions to be looking for.

I am not finding any information in my manuals as to the Smart Com data file extension. Does anyone know what the file extensions are?

I am also in need to the extensions for the data files associated with Quicken, Turbo Tax, and Polar Heart Rate Monitor.

Any insight an help would be appreciated.

do a google search for the program names and see what shows up.

Now, was it a true HDD crash or is it a Windows crash?
