Hi Everyone,
I'm looking at getting a Wrist Computer. I would like something in the $400 dollar range. I would like it to be small and easy to use. I'm a new diver and doubt I will be doing any kind of tech diving. I dive in cold water so it would aslo have to fit over a 7mm wetsuit. I was looking at the Geo 2.0, does anyone have any other recommendations? Thanks,
Tim

I have the Geo 2.0 and like it - therefore I recommend it. It will fit fine over a 7mm suit (that's what I wear) but you have to use the included wrist strap extension which works fine but it a bit annoying. Oceanic does make a "sport band" (assume elastic w/ Velcro) that I've read is much better than the standard strap.

I will say that the Geo is a bit complicated to get used to. A fair number of people say the manual is down right awful. I used the coupon for free training at Dive Computer Training for mine and it was helpful

HOWEVER only you can decide what you are looking for in a wrist computer.
Do you want an liberal or conservative algorithm (though the Geo 2.0 does cover both these)?
Do you want the flexibility to put it in a console someday or is dedicate wrist good for you?
Do you want AI (Air Integration)?
Are there any other specific features you "need" (electronic compass or multiple gases for instance)?
Do you have an attachment to any particular brands?
How important is downloading you dive log? (I don't have the download cable so can't comment on the Geo)

I'd recommend picking a few and investigating them online and then come back with more specific questions - you can also search here - there are endless threads regarding "PC a" vs. PC b".

If you simply ask which one is best you'll get everyone recommending the one they own (like me :) ). You might as well ask "which car is best?"

At the OP's set price of $400 you ain't gonna get air integration...unless you buy used.

I really like my AI VT Pro wrist computer, you can pick it up used within that price range.

And due to an amazing technological advance known only to a select few wrist computer manufacturers, the strap has those little holes so you can adjust it for various wrist and exposure suit thicknesses. It's a closely guarded engineering breakthrough known only to a select few so let's keep this one a SECRET

I have a zeagle n2ition. If you add the boot from DSS (~20 bucks) it will fit over anything from bare skin to a drysuit with think undergarment. It is easy to use and can adapt up to one additional gas mixture. It does nitrox and isn't very conservative....but you can add safety factors in to make it more conservative.

You def want to be able to change the battery yourself. And try to do it in the store BEFORE you buy it. Don't believe the sales guy when they say it is easy. It ain't always easy.

"If it doesn't fit in a DSS mount it doesn't belong on your wrist."
Look here for which computers fit.
I personally went with a Uwatec Aladin 2G (Tech 2G in the past) which is a great computer that also has a seconds timer and clock. I have been very happy with it. The computer is ready to go Tech if I ever do get there.

When I first started diving I thought yeah I am going to be a recreational diver. As I saw more and more my desires changed and the toy selection grew. I could have saved so much money if someone would have just set me up with Hogarthian type gear from the beginning. Something few local LDS even know about.

Also if you do not have a compass yet get the SK7 mount from Leisure Pro or somewhere and a mount for it from DSS. It will improve your navigation in our often green waters.
