Hubby and I will be in GC end of October for 8 days and were checking out the Cayman activity guide to get some ideas for fun things to do when we aren't diving. I saw ads for a couple of Luau's... Stingers at Comfort Suites and the one at the Westin. There is also a dinner cruise that looked interesting. Has anyone been to any of these or can you recommend some other stuff to do? He's not much of a dancer but I've been known to shake it a little... okay, well, a lot  and while we both drink this is a dive trip so we will be keeping to one or two drinks a night. Thanks for the suggestions!

I don't know how much of a party atmosphere you're looking for but I'm assuming that most of the action will be in the SMB area. As far as touristy things go, my wife and I just did a day for that and drove up to the West Bay area (where Cobalt Coast is) and started from there. You will run into the Turtle Farm/Boatswains which is always interesting. I've heard that the ocean-side dinner thing at the Westin can be really nice. If you're feeling adventurous you can always head on over to the East End and explore that area. On the way back you can always hit the Kaibo yacht club and the bar there. Lots of options I think.

My wife and I had all those plans before we went down there but diving 3-4 times a day took its toll on us. We ended up staying in most nights. But, it's all good.

Enjoy! :D

PS

I just went thru the other threads and ran into your other post below. You will be at Compass Point in the East End and there is only a few options while staying in that area. If you're looking for some sort of nightlife I think you're closest (and best?) bet would be The Reef Resort as there is a restaurant and a beachside bar. Anything else would be just a couple of restaurants in the area. Vivvine's has local food and is just a couple minutes drive from Compass Point heading east. There's also Portofino's a couple of miles up that serves italian and local fare (very good by the way). The Lighthouse restaurant is another one you will pass by on the way to Compass Point (really expensive I've heard). I already mentioned Kaibo above (which is about a 30 minute drive from Compass) and there's another bar and grille-type place on the way to Kaibo (I forget the name as we didn't really go in there but seemed to be a popular place with the locals). Other than that your only option is to drive the 45 or so minutes back into George Town/SMB area.

From Compass Point you can walk into East End village & visit 2 fine local hostelries - Eastern Star & Pirate's Cove.

the ritz carlton(right next to the westin) has a "disco" thing every friday night, it's pretty fun. Two bars, lounge areas and a dance floor.
