My buddy, Frankpro1 and I are planning on diving Casino Point this Thursday. A little pulse of swell is going to come through sometime mid next week. I don't want to get skunked.

I looked at the swell map today, and it looked similar to what it forecasts next week Thursday...did anybody dive Casino Point today? Dr. Bill, have you heard any reports about Vs around Avalon?

Dr. Bill, I am not sure what swell map you use, but if you could give us an estimate of what we are to expect this coming thursday than that would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe one of you Catalina locals can put up a web page with a daily visibility report, like Laguna Beach Sea Sports does for Shaw's Cove.

I haven't been in since Sat., but the reports I got from yesterday were 20 ft vis with some swell. Vis has been down the past few days.

I can deal with 20 ft vis, it is still slightly better then Palos Verdes on most days, but hopefully it improves by Thursday. Anyways, Frank and I will PM you later this week for a up to date vis report. Thanks.

I didn't dive this weekend, but reports were anywhere from 25-40 depending on who you asked (and which part of the park they dived in)... and that was with about 150 divers at the park.

Seems a good a place to pop my posting cherry as any.

I finished my OW dives today, off the casino stairs (assuming we're talking about the same place). Viz was about 25ft. with mild surge.

Plenty of garibaldi and a couple very large fish with 3 vertical strips (still working on an id). Edit: Sheephedd?

Not too sure how valuable an opinion of a newbie is, but that's what I saw.

This board's great for research and reference. Thanks guys.

Edit: Thanks dwaters! Already digging it.

Any word on recent vis? I know they just had Chamber Day out there yesterday and I am going to the special event out there this Saturday.

Thanks in advance!

Thom

We did two dives Tuesday... vis varied from a minimum of 7-8 ft to a very poor 25 ft. I heard 35 ft yesterday but wasn't diving myself.

Thanks Dr Bill. Encouraging to here it is getting better. Possibly see you this weekend.

Thom

Reports from yesterday were 25-30 ft
