Yes, we did have a BLAST! THe best part was when we surfaced on the 2nd dive, she was smiling ear to ear! I think today was a huge confidence builder for my dive buddy, and we are even more prepared for our Pompano trip in November. Next report will be on Blue Grotto.

You're next......:D

*Miss running for her life*

Nothing well get the salt out of me :14: If I have to, I will turn u into a fossil :Wizard:

I am a fossil..........why else would I venture into a cave?

You could do it you know......at least cavern.

Put some sharks, rays, and brightly colored fish in there and then I am game. :D 'til then, I'll just go to hang with you guys :)

Wow, I really need to keep up with my log book :rofl3:

Anyway Buckeye - it is going to be cold in the Gulf. Hoods, gloves, 7mm are highly recommended.

If u want to charter, and go see some really good stuff, go with "Capt. Ty". You can pm him here on the board. Alternately, personally I would not recommend Red Rocks. However, Spanish Rocks at Anna Maria Island is a good shore dive. Depending on how long u are here u may want to do Venice Beach. You are not going to find any substantial life there but you will find loads of sharks teeth, if u hit the right spots.

As for the springs, I am far from the authority on those as I only go every now and again to hang out with friends. So I will let someone else chime in on those. :)

Hey Miss D,
Where is Red Rocks?
Thanks Barb:blinking:

MOKEY7... that would be great thank you

Eandiver...thank you on the springs report we may need to look into the springs more I have to see how far they are from Oldsmar

GoBuckeyes most of these springs about 2-3 hrs from Oldsmar. I also in that town.

Howdy GOBUCKS!! O! H! :D

Been to both Blue Grotto and Devil's Den. Blue Grotto is deep, slightly over 90 feet I believe. Not a whole lot to see in there, but amazing clarity. I felt like was hanging in air. Devil's Den was really cool, I'd prefer it to the Grotto. Probably equal clarity, but it doesn't have big open space. It's like diving inside swiss cheese (without the smell of course). Fossils in the wall, swim throughs, cool.

Maybe we can get a local dive in sometime?
